How to buy a good billiard table?

1. Look at the appearance

A good table is beautiful in shape, fine in workmanship, and elegant in paint. It matches with bright colored balls and velvet green tweed. It is like a precious handicraft, and a strong desire to play will be generated at a glance. However, the poor quality of the table is rough and the paint is dark, giving people an uncomfortable feeling.

1. Look at the workmanship

The high-end ball table is fine in workmanship, horizontal and vertical, and all the connecting parts are tightly connected: the paint is flat as a mirror, and the feel is smooth and delicate. In addition, hit the edge of the library with a little force from the waist to see if the balls placed on the table shake. The smaller the shaking, the better. The table that can't move shows that the wood used is hard and well made.

1. Look at the library

Check whether there is any gap (i.e. straightness on the vertical surface) between the edge of the warehouse and the tabletop. When the edge of the warehouse is deformed, it is generally the middle drum or both sides are warped. If the gap is small and cannot be seen clearly, you can try to insert the bank card you carry to the bottom of the library, and it is better not to insert it. Squat at one end of the warehouse edge to see whether the two warehouse edges and the rubber edge are on a straight line on the horizontal plane (i.e. the nonstraightness on the horizontal plane): see whether the warehouse edge is parallel to the table and whether the warehouse edge and the rubber edge are up or down.

1. Look at the mouth of the bag

Take the slate arc below the bag mouth as an example to see whether the arcs of the two sides of the library are symmetrical and whether the edge curve of a single arc is smooth and consistent. Check whether there are pleats in the tablecloth bag at the mouth of the bag, especially in the middle bag. Check whether the bag mouth leather is flat and whether the gap between the edge and the end of the warehouse is too large. Shake the bag mouth up and down to see if it is loose. Hit the cue ball with the middle pole to see if the target ball spits out when it enters the hollow bag.

1. Watch the ball

Let the ball roll on the table to see whether the speed is uniform, whether the line changes, and whether it shakes left and right when it needs to stop. Good walking speed is fast, like flowing clouds and flowing water, as if it is not rolling, as if it is sliding on the ice.

1. Look at the elasticity

Throw the ball close to the table by hand or hit the ball with a club. Check the rebound times of the ball on the long side or short side of the table to determine the elasticity. It is appropriate to use 4 storehouses to 4.5 storehouses on the long side and 4.5 storehouses to 5 storehouses on the short side. Another identification method is to use the club to hit the ball toward the middle of the second bank side of the right top pocket. It is better if the hit ball can bounce more than 6 banks.

1. Look at the slate

Check whether the surface of the slate is smooth and whether there are large white lines, large patterns, sand holes, hard beans, rust, cracks, scratches, manual repair, and other defects.

1. Look flat

Check whether the putty at the joint of the stone slab on the tabletop is a thin line equal to the thickness of the joint or an intermittent wide band. Where there is a wide band of putty, it indicates that one of the two stone slabs is low or partially uneven.
